On May 15, 2021, WKPZ attorney, Cory Halliburton, completed a 50-mile GoRuck Star Course in Washington, D.C. His team of four finished first out of about 100 participants, which included military, ex-military and civilian teams and individual participants. The 50-mile, 15-hour exercise traversed from Capitol Hill, into Arlington and Alexandria, Virginia, over to Bethesda, Maryland, back past the United States Supreme Court and on to the finish near the Capitol.  With the required non-consumable weight, plus fuel, water, and other necessities, Mr. Halliburton’s ruck weighed in at 46 pounds and weighed out at about 40 pounds. Mr. Halliburton commented, “This was one of the toughest physical and mental challenges of my career. My team was amazing, and we kept a steady and brisk cadence through all 50 miles and 2,500 feet of elevation. The retired Special Forces event coordinators were ecstatic upon our team’s early finish, and their humbled and genuine congratulations justified every ruck-step of the arduous journey.”

Mr. Halliburton joined WKPZ in 2008. His bio may be reviewed here
