She has a broad practice advising on income, transfer, and indirect tax planning and controversy, as well as on general corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, entity formation and termination, shareholder and buy-sell agreements, and governance issues.
Ms. Bivona has represented clients in asset, stock, financing, and restructuring transactions on both the buyer and seller side. Her clients have spanned a wide range of industries, including energy and natural resources, technology, manufacturing, professional services, family offices, nonprofits, real estate, insurance, and more. Prior to her employment with WKPZ, Ms. Bivona held associate attorney roles for several well established law firms in corporate and tax law disciplines, as well as a role in the tax controversy group of a Big 4 accounting firm. She has presented on various strategic tax planning issues, the imposition of IRS penalties, financial management for nonprofit entities, and foreign bank account and asset reporting.
During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Bivona completed an intensive French language-immersion program in Nantes, France, where she studied international politics and intercultural management as well as completing an internship in a global firm’s international trade law practice. In law school, she received the 2010 Dedication Award for completing more pro bono service hours (as a quality reviewer for the United Way of St. Joseph County’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program) than any other Notre Dame Law School student. Outside of the office, she enjoys attending the opera, traveling, and studying ballet, and is an avid scuba diver and classical pianist.
