Houston Office: Arlington Office: Thousands of historic documents are currently stored in the archives at the Harris County Courthouse; however, most are almost impossible to find due to the lack of any meaningful archives and indexing of these documents. Documents relating to the legal interests of Jesse Jones, Howard Hughes, and William Marsh Rice were simply boxed away for another day. The legal orders that allowed the creation of Herman Hospital and discussed the first woman to serve on a Harris County jury were likewise tucked away. Recently, through the efforts of many Harris County Judges, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Houston Bar Association, a system was designed to preserve these documents and make them accessible to others. As part of that effort, Tanya Garrison and Jon Saikin formed and serve on a Historic Documents Committee through the Houston Young Lawyers Association and were recently acknowledged by Judge Joseph "Tad" Halbach in his article "Bringing 21st Century Technology to the Past" appearing in the January/February 2008 edition of the Houston Lawyer. © 2008 Weycer, Kaplan, Pulaski & Zuber, P.C.
